At St. Cecelia School, our students use technology to connect, create, and inspire others. Students use a wide variety of online learning platforms and create digital multimedia projects that allow them to showcase and share their learning. Technology Integration Specialists help students and teachers in the classroom to use iPads, netbooks, apps and websites to enhance learning and enrich the curriculum.

K-8 students also attend technology classes in the computer lab each week where they learn keyboarding, computer programming, digital citizenship, word processing, research techniques, presentations, spreadsheets, file management & much more! Students are currently learning computer programming through the Hour of Code, code.org, Khan Academy, Scratch, and Tynker!

This year, our robotics team designed, built and programmed Lego Mindstorms Robots to compete in the first “Bible Bots” competition in our Diocese, held at Guardian Angels Catholic School. This competition featured two challenges: David & Goliath Sumo Wrestling Robots and “Forty Years in the Wilderness.” In this challenge, each robot must cross the “Red Sea”, take the “manna” to the people, avoid the “golden calf,” and enter the “Promised Land.”
