Onward and Upward: The Music Program at St. Cecelia is Growing

“Artistic talent is a gift from God and whoever discovers it in himself has a certain obligation: to know that he cannot waste this talent, but must develop it.”

—Blessed Pope John Paul II

The music program at St. Cecelia School continues to grow and expand.

Students are using technology in the classroom to create projects for music presentations and working together to collaborate with their fellow students. Here at St. Cecelia we hold the music department to be a core subject and students take this very seriously. Students are challenged by using creativity, and skills that will help them to be life-long achievers and learners. Our music program also combines all the elements of being a performer too, which helps them build their self-confidence and allows them to be more active in presentation and public speaking.

We are so blessed to have an ever-growing abundance of resources which we use in our music curriculum including: 30 keyboards and two music rooms which will allow us to expand for our future needs. This is my second year teaching music and drama at SCS and I am truly blessed to be in a school where my students strive to be the best they can possibly be, not only in their academics but also as good Christian role models! They are proud to be who they are and to share their talents too.

In April, many of our students were actively involved in the drama department.  This year we featured a student production of Beauty and The Beast at Clearwater Central Catholic High School which ran from April 28th to April 29th.

Blessings,

Ms. Debra Fabrizio
