At St. Cecelia Catholic School, we pride ourselves on being a stalwart in our community. Our faculty and staff enjoy teaching the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and problem-solvers as we provide an academically challenging and globally minded interdisciplinary education for kids up to 8th grade. In today’s blog, we talk about what sets St. Cecelia Catholic School apart from other schools, both public and private, in Pinellas County, Florida, and the surrounding areas.

International Baccalaureate

One focal point of St. Cecelia Catholic School is to foster global-minded individuals. To that end, we became an International Baccalaureate World School in December 2014. An IB program develops inquiring, knowledgeable, and compassionate young people who understand the responsibility of caring for others in the world around them. We’re the only International Baccalaureate private school in Pinellas County for kids in PreK-3 through 8th grade, offering the Primary Years Programme and Middle Years Programme for students.

Supportive School Environment

St. Cecelia Catholic School thrives on developing relationships with everyone in the community, and this includes our parents. We wholeheartedly believe that parents play a crucial role in their child’s educational development both at home and at school. Collectively, parents log thousands of volunteer hours per year at St. Cecelia and through the Home and School Association. Family involvement in our curriculum creates stability and fosters a love of learning in our students.

Christ-Centered Catholic Community

Having a well-rounded and global education is only part of the equation at our private school. The mission of St. Cecelia Catholic School is to be a Christ-centered Catholic community inspiring students to live a faith-filled life. We aim to bolster your child’s faith and spiritual growth by teaching the principles set forth by Jesus Christ during His ministry 2,000 years ago.

Tradition of Excellence

St. Cecelia Catholic School was founded in 1948 with 60 kids enrolled in grades one through six. Within three years, enrollment tripled as we found a niche for quality, private education in Pinellas County. Since then, we’ve grown tremendously. We were voted as the Best Private School in Clearwater by readers of the Tampa Bay Times and also named as Top Workplace by the Times in recent years.
