Five Reasons to Send Your Middle School Student to St. Cecelia

Multi-Ethnic Kids Smiling

Choosing a school that will nurture your child academically, socially, mentally, and emotionally is an important choice. We all want our children to thrive in their academic environment.

St. Cecelia Interparochial Catholic School serves children in grades pre-K to 8th grade, and prepares them for success in high school and beyond. Here are five great reasons you should choose St. Cecelia for your middle school student.

Blue Ribbon School

St. Cecelia Interparochial Catholic School has been honored as a Blue Ribbon School twice – once in 2010 and again in 2020. This national program only recognizes a handful of schools in each state as Blue Ribbon Schools per year. Since 2010, only 1% of Florida schools have received this honor.

The qualifications for achieving Blue Ribbon School status are almost purely academic, proving that St. Cecelia excels in student education and achievement.

International Baccalaureate Programme

International Baccalaureate (IB) is an international educational organization. Their programms are designed for different age levels and help students to manage their own learning and make real-world connections with their studies. Their program for middle school students is called the Middle Years Programme (MYP).

At St. Cecelia, we offer the MYP for students in grades 6 through 8. All students enrolled in these grades participate in the program as their education is structured according to the MYP guidelines.

Teachers Send Their Kids Here

You know a school is top-notch when the very educators who work there (or even at nearby schools) send their children to St. Cecelia. Many students who attend are referred by former teachers or are the children of former students who look back fondly on their education.

We Put Family First

At St. Cecelia, we love seeing parents involved with their student and academics. We seek to be family-focused, striving to show that the Catholic faith we practice at home is directly interwoven into our studies and education.

Each child’s family is responsible for 24 mandatory hours of service (MHS) in different areas. These service hours benefit your child as well as the school as a whole and make a tighter-knit community among all of us. We are all in this together when preparing children for the future.

Outstanding Academics

You know from our nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School status that the academics provided at St. Cecelia Interparochial Catholic School are some of the best in the state. Catholic schools also have a history of outperforming public schools academically and have had consistently higher scores in reading, math, and science for the past 20 years.
