St. Cecilia offers one of the top academic programs in the area for many different reasons. From our Gospel-centered discipleship to our International Baccalaureate status, St. Cecelia has a strong reputation for academic excellence and integrity. Along with our standard curriculum and programming, we also offer a variety of Academic Special Programs. In today’s blog post, we’ll look at a few of these special programs.
St. Cecelia believes that creativity is a crucial aspect of a student’s education, and our art program promotes a spirit of creativity and uniqueness. We give students the chance to learn about acclaimed artists, to study different styles of art, and to have hands-on education in developing their own unique artistic style. This special program is offered to students from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade and conforms to Common Core Standards and the IB MYP Programme.
Music And Theatre
The influence of music and theatre on culture is indisputable. At St. Cecelia, we believe that it is vital for our students to understand that impact. From pre-kindergarten through 5th grade, students can learn about the history of music and theatre, as well as the techniques and concepts behind the music. This program seamlessly blends into the musical and theatrical programs available to students as upperclassmen.
Technology plays an immeasurable role in today’s culture, and the students at St. Cecelia won’t be left behind. From pre-kindergarten all the way through high school, our students are given the technological opportunities and resources needed to become adept in today’s technological world. We utilize technology for educational purposes, including our iPad program, which helps enhance teaching and learning by providing more opportunities for students to personalize their learning through authentic tasks.
If your student is in 1st-5th grade and needs a gifted program, St. Cecelia offers an enhanced learning program that will allow them to achieve their full potential. This program uses standards from the National Association for Gifted Children and aligns with International Baccalaureate standards. In this program, students will also get to hear from guest speakers and take educational field trips during the school year.
